I know a lot of you have been waiting for this news: CLEOPATRA IN SPACE #1: TARGET PRACTICE is now available in eBook format! Below are links for all the available devices. Would be awesome to see Cleo be a bestseller for any one of them.

I'm told the book is also available for Kobo but I don't see a link for it yet. Will edit this post when I do.
Just a reminder about the GDFR Coloring and Art Books Kickstarter I'm co-running with my pal gameogami. We've already reached our main goal the first week (yay!) so now we're offering a new Team Fairy painting (by me!) as a stretch goal as well as add-ons for those who want additional books, prints, etc...

Please check it out and pledge to get some cool stuff. And help spread the word! Thanks!

I'll be at Tampa Bay Comic Con Fri-Sun this weekend at the Tampa Convention Center! You'll find me in Artist Alley table B24 and both prints and Cleo books will on hand. Will likely also be drawing watercolor sketches again for those interested in that sort of thing.

Despite actually living in Tampa, this'll be my first time tabling at the show. Hope to meet a lot of local fans!
The epic craziness of San Diego Comic-Con starts tomorrow. This year I'm relieved to just be walking around the floor, without any need to lug a bunch of books and prints cross country. There will however be a couple places to find me on Sunday. Info below!
Sunday Noon - 1:00pm
Panels & Pictures (A Graphic Novel Panel -- Kids/YA)
Room: 32AB

Learn about the latest in great graphic novels for kids, with Emily Carroll (Through the Woods), Kazu Kibuishi (Comics Squad: Recess), Cecil Castellucci (Odd Duck), Mike Maihack (Cleopatra in Space), and Raina Telgemeier (Sisters); moderated by Jenni Holm (BabymouseSquish). In their discussion of what makes a graphic novel "for kids," their creative processes, and their latest books, these fantastic cartoonists will show you that new young readers are the heart of the graphic novel industry.

And immediately after...

Book Signing – Sails Pavilion Autographing Area 09

Other than that, maybe you'll find me wandering around? You'll be able to recognize me by my dark green messenger bag, likely some sort of cat shirt, and bewildered expression.

It's been Cleopatra in Space week on Flickering Myth- a great news site spotlighting the best in film, television, and comic entertainment. First, there was a bit of my insight on if CiS could ever be a movie. Next, a really nice review of Target Practice. And today it all culminates into a pretty extensive feature on CiS and my process working on the characters and books. As a bonus, the interview includes a few exclusive pages from Target Practice that give a look at how they transition from traditionally drawn to digitally colored. Definitely worth checking out! Links below.

I'm excited to finally release the soundtrack for Cleopatra in Space #1: Target Practice: a somewhat lyrical, mostly musical companion to the graphic novel. All of the songs below helped inspire the creation of Target Practice, hopefully give a touch more emotional resonance to the story, and occasionally foreshadow events of things to come.

Sample books of Cleo 1 arrived on my doorstep yesterday and they look really good! So proud of this book. And thrilled to be part of the Graphix line.

HeroesCon is once again almost upon us! This year, the show is twice as big and you'll be able to find me smack dab in the middle of it at Indie Island table AA-1006. As always, here's a handy map to show you exactly how to get there.

And HERE is a GIANT map of where that is in relation to the entire floor.

I'll also be on a panel spotlighting Project: Rooftop Saturday at 2PM. Here are the details for that:

PROJECT ROOFTOP
What do you get when you take some of the most talented artists in the world and challenge them with redesigning an icon? PROJECT: ROOFTOP, the superhero redesign site, is here at Heroes Con, LIVE! Join Dean Trippe and Vito Delsante, two of the popular site's editors, and their guests, Ron Salas, Joel Priddy, Mike Maihack, Joel Carroll, Joe Quinones, Ming Doyle, and Dan Govar as they discuss costumes, masks, capes and announce a special challenge open exclusively to HeroesCon attendees!

That's a lot of awesome (I hope there's enough chairs). It will also be the first place to see the "super" piece I painted for the annual HeroesCon auction Sat night. So you won't want to miss it.

Other than that, I'll just be hanging out at my table. I'll have a limited amount of Operation Space Cat books as well as some old and new prints. If I look a little sad it's because this is the first year Jen and Prime won't be with me and I will miss them. So make sure to stop by and cheer me up by buying stuff. :)
Wow- so many birthday wishes posted to my profile yesterday! Thanks so much, everyone! I will put them to good use. :)
LAST day to bid on this original BATGIRL/SUPERGIRL comic art! Auction ends 8pm EST. www.ebay.com/itm/-/25127524598…

Merry Christmas (again) from Batgirl and Supergirl by mikemaihack
Now that it's almost summer, seems like a good a time as any to put last year's Batgirl/Supergirl Christmas comic up for bid! (Actually I have a family vacation coming up and we need the extra cash).

eBay auction here: www.ebay.com/itm/-/25127524598…

Scans of the originals are in the link above and the winner also gets a full-color print of the finished comic. I found the thumbnails for this too, so I'm throwing those in as well. Auction ends next Monday at 8PM EST. Good luck!

Had a fun time talking with the Once Upon A Sketch folks. You can listen to my rambling, unfocussed self here: onceuponasketch.com/2013/05/on…

I honestly can't remember much of what we talked about, but almost certain I talked a good length about the CiS/Scholastic deal. How it came about, what I have planned, etc. Probably said some stuff I shouldn't have. That's sorta my thing.
