I can see a good one shot comic being made around this image.
Batman is doing some detective work at Haley's Circus with Grayson. On his way out after obtaining the documents he sees a kid and his parents exiting the main tent. The kid is super excited about his balloon. All of a sudden the kid accidentally lets it go and Batman notices the wind rushing it towards downtown Gotham. It practically writes itself. Insert chase to get balloon back to the kid that reminded him of himself in the scene just before all he ever loved was abruptly taken away from him.
Okay, you might hate me for this, but this really reminds me of the Midnighter. He's another DC hero (originally Wildstorm universe) and he's actually a Batman analogue with superpowers and a boyfriend who's a Superman analogue. In the Wildstorm design, Midnighter uses balloons to contact his husband (who now has to stay up above a smog covered earth to stay alive (solar powers)) every now and then. [link] [link]
There's something quite bizarre about Bat's.... whenever using just a single colour scheme, orange and red seem to REALLY suit the ambience of the picture for some reason. (Reminds me of some of my favourite Batman story's like "Batman and the Monster Men", and "Gotham Nights")
